Timber Process

This is the process landowners can expect when working with Woods & Wildlife Forestry for harvesting their trees.

In general, if managed properly, your woods can be harvested every 10-15 years. Your property will contain a higher timber sale value with Woods & Wildlife Forestry's ongoing management program.

What type of trees are valuable in Pennsylvania?

Hardwoods are of most value to our logging partners in Central Pennsylvania. Common marked trees are, Poplar, Oak, Chestnut, Cherry, Walnut and are approximately 15 inches in diameter.
